Less than fifteen miles from Twelve Hotel, Cascade Springs National Park is home to a remarkable history, as well as extensive trails, Georgia wildlife, including turtles, creek fishes, deer, and more, and—of course—mineral springs, whose waters are said to be healing and restorative.

One of the oldest forests still existing in the Atlanta city limits, Cascade Springs was the site of the Battle of Utoy Creek in 1864. Several trenches still remain, and signposts throughout the park offer information about the historic battle.
